Double-V

This has been mistaken for a function; W
I have witnessed this crime, time and time again
A formula of sorts, every letter of theirs, when in truth, a mere shape
Making me weary and afraid of writing as my heart desires
Their eyes only focused to the far left
So I do not know what to do anymore
My hope is sapped, I wish to climb up new trees
Yet I am afraid of the consequences and the mistakes in your mind
They count, with letters, thinking I am more than I intentionally express
Leave me be, please, absorb the words and not their casing
They are just shapes for our brains to paint pictures
They are evil, thinking a slippery slope is a sign
They are evil, thinking a wicked martyr is a mirror
They are evil, thinking the lightest touch is a lie
They are evil, thinking this is only a tease
They are evil, thinking every etched evolution is an ease
They are evil, thinking my precise prisms are humorous
They are evil, thinking irrational claims are cues to search
They are evil, thinking quickened glistened glimmers are queues of depth
They are evil, thinking corporal machines see them
They are evil, they have jokes I do not understand
W doubles nothing, it is simply two V's.
There is no heart in their functions
Only confusion catering liars never admitting
They see signs... I ask of what?
Aiming their simple statements anchored by assumption
Leave me alone
The mere surface always lies
When it does not, then you are being played with
Leave me alone
Be natural
Write pretty words
Write pretty pictures
